Senior / Pricipal Technical Officer

Job Summary

AECOM’s civil infrastructure team in Canberra has an opportunity for a senior / principal technical officer to utilise their strong technical and CAD skills to manage and deliver civil infrastructure projects.

Due to an increase in key infrastructure projects in Canberra, as well as internal promotions, we now have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Technical Officer - CAD to join the AECOM team! This will be a fantastic opportunity to work on some of the region’s largest projects whilst expanding and developing your career within the Civil Infrastructure space.

Role Responsibilities

  • Ensuring deliverables are on time and to the required standards

  • Establishing, developing and maintaining appropriate professional and technical standards within the Canberra team

  • Assisting in the development and operation of effective CAD management systems within the Canberra team and the business generally

  • Operate in an open, communicative, and positive way with team members and clients

  • Develop strong working relationships with technical colleagues

  • Complete any other reasonable tasks assigned by the team leadership group.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 8 – 10 years of experience

  • Have an excellent technical understanding of AutoCAD and civil drafting of highways, drainage, and general civil infrastructure.

  • Passionate about leading edge digital engineering tools and practises

  • Able to use all Microsoft Office packages

  • Quality and productivity in execution of duties and responsibilities, as outlined above

  • Timeliness and accuracy of completing tasks

  • Effective collaboration; degree and level of input and professional assistance given to key contacts including all staff and suppliers

  • Achievement towards goals.
