Fire Safety Engineer / Senior Engineer

Job Summary

AECOM’s Fire Services Team in Brisbane has a unique opportunity for a Fire Safety Engineer / Senior Engineer to join our dedicated and collaborative building services group. With exposure to a wide range of buildings and infrastructure projects, you will be given the opportunity to take the next step in your career, making a meaningful impact on the success of our business – whilst having great fun doing it!

This role will see you developing performance-based fire engineered strategies with a strong focus on both client relationships management and technical delivery. Working as part of the National Fire Engineering Team, you will be exposed to working on a range of building types including: large and medium sized hospitals, unique education facilities, and defence projects at a national level. We are also providing fire safety engineering services for major transport infrastructure projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Fire Safety Engineer within a consultancy or authority environment;

  • Relevant fire safety engineering qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Chartered status (or working towards the achievement);

  • Experience with negotiations with approval authorities on performance-based designs

  • A thorough understanding of applicable legislation

  • Experience in preparing fire engineering documentation;

  • A strong background in the use of computer-based modelling;

  • Exceptional skills in word processing and spreadsheet use;

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and outstanding ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders of the business.
