Cabling Technician

Job Summary

The Cabling Technician is an experienced member of a multi-skilled maintenance team key to the safe and effective delivery of facilities preventative maintenance and repair across a wide array of systems and equipment. The Cabling Technician provides advanced technical support to planned and reactive maintenance actions. This support includes, but is not limited to:

  • Installing, maintaining and repairing cable infrastructure

  • Performing maintenance on existing cabling systems

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of systems and technological advances that contribute to quality improvements in the conduct of maintenance tasks and the collection of maintenance information.

  • Aid in the development and review of project briefs and Statements of Work as required. Aid in the delivery of projects and new works as required.

  • Review and updates drawings

  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing site environmental health and safety (EHS) policies and procedures.

  • Work environments can be cramped and the position may be required to work at heights.

Minimum Requirements

  • Certificate III in a Facilities Trade

  • Demonstrated experience in installing, maintaining, repairing, programming and updating Data and Video cable infrastructure.

  • Proficiency in applying best practice operations, technical and management principles.

  • Demonstrated initiative with the ability to identify and resolve problems.

  • Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience and qualifications in project management

  • Experience and qualifications in workplace training

  • White Card

  • Confined Space and Working at Heights tickers

  • First Aid
