Reece named as a top graduate employer
15 February 2018
Reece has been named as a top graduate employer by The Australian Financial Review in its 2018 survey. The survey, which lists the top 100 graduate employers in Australia, put Reece at number 29, ahead of established names like Procter and Gamble, BHP and Unilever.
The graduate program has been increasing in importance at Reece over the past 20 years, as the organisation has grown in both size and complexity. Graduates move through several parts of the business, before landing in a permanent position.
However, the culture at Reece is one of opportunity. Even after the graduate program is complete, people tend to move around the organisation, building knowledge, experience and are often promoted rapidly. They also tend to stay a long time. It’s not uncommon to find senior executives who started at Reece as graduates.
All Reece graduates start in a branch, so they learn about the business from the point of view of the customer. It’s one of the secrets of our success.
Reece puts considerable effort into designing the carefully structured graduate program, which gathers graduates from all over the country for an orientation at the Reece Support Centre in Melbourne. This is also also reflected in the recently revamped Careers website that describes the various opportunities available in Reece’s businesses.
