COyou2 Program

Swiss Re

The COyou2 Programme is an innovative extension of our climate change strategy – in particular, our efforts to reduce our own CO2 emissions. It gives our employees the opportunity to claim subsidies from the company for a range of investments that help them cut their own carbon footprints. When we launched the programme in 2007, it was the first global corporate initiative of its kind.

50% grants for investments

The programme is open to all employees who have been with Swiss Re for a specified period of time (currently at least three months). Grants cover 50% of the investment sum up to a locally determined maximum allowance. Some measures are eligible in all our locations while others vary, in order to maximise the programme’s effectiveness.

High popularity

In the first seven-year cycle of the programme between 2007 and 2013 we granted more than 9000 subsidies in total. The most popular investments were household appliances (eg energy-efficient washing machines and refrigerators), bicycles and other forms of alternative individual transport, and public transport passes.

New cycle to 2020

In view of the programme's resounding success, we launched a new seven-year cycle running up to 2020. For this, all our employees have received a new subsidy allowance. In 2014, we granted a total of 2268 subsidies worldwide.
