Grow with us

Rio Tinto

Developing our people is an essential part of our success - now and for the future. We want to engage our people by providing opportunities for their personal growth, helping them to contribute to the success of our organisation.

Our global Learning & People Development team developed a three-year learning roadmap to support the development needs of employees at all levels, in all roles across our operations. They work in tandem with the learning schemes available at a local level, to ensure that all employees have access to development for their current and future roles.

Rio Tinto College

Rio Tinto College - Logo

In 2011, we launched the Rio Tinto College. This innovative approach to learning comprises academies for leadership and the development of functional skills. The flagship academy launched as part of the College was the Marketing Academy. This was followed by academies in the areas of Health, Safety, Environment and Communities, Leadership, Stakeholder Engagement and Human Resources.

The curriculum for all these schemes is a mix of formal classroom and social and online learning, which is available 24/7 and easily accessible through the academy portals.
