Roles in demand

MMG Limited

We have identified the following roles in demand and are always keen to speak with qualified professionals from the following disciplines.

Mining engineers

What is a mining engineer?

Mining engineers are involved in the extraction of valuable ores from the ground for processing and utilisation. They are involved in all phases of mining operations including exploration to feasibility studies and development, production, processing and marketing.

Mining engineers are required to have a broad knowledge of many other disciplines including geology, civil and mechanical engineering, metallurgy, commerce, economics, management, law and information technology.

Required Qualification - Bachelor of Mining Engineering

Geologists

What is a geologist?

Earth scientists or geologists deal with the interacting systems of the solid earth, atmosphere, hydrosphere and biosphere, and the evolution through time. Geologists apply the theories of chemistry, physics, mathematics and biology to investigate planetary systems and alterations over time. Geologists may work in laboratories, offices or out in the field.

Required Qualification - Bachelor of Science (Earth science/Geology/Geophysics)

Metallurgists

What is a Metallurgist?

Metallurgy is a domain of materials science that studies the physical and chemical behaviour of metallic elements, their intermetallic compounds, and their mixtures, which are called alloys. Metallurgy is the technology of metal, specifically the way in which science is applied to its practical use.

A metallurgist is trained in the extraction, refining, alloying and fabrication of metals. Specifically, metallurgists focus on the physical and chemical behaviour of metallic elements.

Required Qualification - Bachelor of Mineral Processing/Chemical Engineering
