Property Claims Consultant

Guild Group

As a Property Claims Consultant in the Claims Service team, I'm the first person a client speaks to when they have a query or need to lodge a claim. I started at the company as an Administration Assistant in the claims department in 2012, but was quickly promoted to my current role.

In the Claims Department, you're exposed to a wide range of diverse scenarios and one call is never the same as the next. I find my role extremely interesting as I face different challenges every day. I also really enjoy working with my team.

One of the things I love most about Guild is that the company genuinely believes in giving its people the freedom to deliver exceptional customer service.

That's really important in Claims, as we are dealing with people who are experiencing difficulties. The claims I work on range from motor vehicle accidents to large storm losses - or worse.

There's the ever-present risk of a catastrophic incident occurring, so the ability to keep calm and use your skills to go above and beyond to help the client is crucial.

Due to our size we're able to provide personal service to our clients and really get to know them and their needs. Some of our clients have been with us for more than 25 years and part of the reason why is that we offer such personalised service.

We end up building pretty strong relationships with them, which is quite unique in the insurance industry. For me it's these relationships and the appreciation of the help we give that I find so rewarding in my job.

Another thing I like about Guild is that we're empowered to look for opportunities to improve the way we do things. As an organisation, we're continuously improving our procedures, which is why those who have the ability to adapt to different styles of working and are open to change do so well here.
