Gate Gourmet has a long-standing commitment to the communities in which we operate, founded on gategroup’s Corporate Social Responsibility program and demonstrating our corporate values of Accountability, Passion, Integrity and Excellence.

We are proud of the numerous ways our teams around the world participate in community programs through recognized organizations, often in partnership with our customers.

In addition to a variety of food drives, fundraising activities for various charitable organizations, and other donations of time and resources, here are just a few examples of how Gate Gourmet employees give back as an organization:

1. As one of Delta Air Lines’ major catering providers, Gate Gourmet has partnered with the airline to build and refurbish homes for families in need, through the Habitat for Humanity program in the U.S. The airline funds these worthwhile activities from recycling efforts, toward which Gate Gourmet is a primary partner. Across the U.S., Gate Gourmet recycles 100% of all recyclable products within the limits allowed by the FDA, for those materials that cannot be directly re-used for in-flight services.
2. Gate Gourmet is delighted to introduce the industry’s first electrically powered highloader, which will be in use throughout Europe from April 2014 and ultimately become an integral part of the company’s global fleet of 1,900 highloaders.
3. At several locations across North America, we installed innovative waste reduction technology on international waste streams utilizing garbage grinding/dewatering equipment. Preliminary results show weight reductions of 35-40% in the amount of international waste sent for incineration/sterilization/landfilling.
