Amanda

Case Worker

Department of Family and Community Services

“No two days are ever the same.”

“I take great pride in being able to assist families and people with a disability,“ says Amanda, Ageing Disability and Home Care NSW Case Manager.

With all her boundless energy and enthusiasm, it’s not surprising that no two days at work are ever the same for Amanda.

“One day I’m visiting a family who have a child with a disability, the next I’m on the phone to service providers arranging for emergency respite and transport to support a family in crisis,” she says.

In her role, Amanda works with a wide range of stakeholders across NSW, and spends her time assisting families in need.

“I love working with families and supporting them through tough times, and I appreciate being the key contact point between families and the available services they need,” she enthuses.

Over 1.3 million people in NSW have a disability – that’s around one in five. Having a disability herself, Amanda understands that the only limit a person with a disability has is their own imagination.

“I can prove to them that they can do anything!” she affirms.

“I feel very strongly about my work and enjoy empowering and motivating people with disabilities.”

Amanda is a proud mum of two young children and enjoys spending as much time with them as possible. And when she’s not with the kids, you’ll find Amanda out on the beach or at the park.

“I love the outdoors!” she says.
