“I love my job.”

“I wake up every day and can’t wait to get into it,” says Peter, Learning and Development Officer for the NSW Department of Justice.

“I teach the Certificate III in Correctional Practice program, while motivating new correctional officers and other staff. I thoroughly enjoy learning and sharing knowledge, as well as motivating people to be and do their best,” he says.

“My role is to learn, share knowledge, and assist to develop staff and myself.”

Peter’s drive in his role comes from knowing he’s able to teach trainees valuable knowledge and skills they can apply to their work, and from being able to motivate them to reach their potential.

“I would hope that I’ve improved the skills of trainees by role-modelling behaviour and by educating them to strive to be their best,” Peter enthuses.

Besides his work, health and fitness is another of Peter’s passions.

“I own a gym and I do boxing. At my gym, I work with young individuals who have had a less fortunate start and motivate them to achieve things in life,” he says.
