Corrective Services NSW

Corrective Services NSW employs Services & Program Officers who work with offenders in custody and in the community.

Successful applicants for positions of Services and Programs Officer:

  • should have relevant tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology, mental-health or other human service fields; or relevant experience working with family, social and / or drug and alcohol related issues;
  • must demonstrate good skills and experience in group processes and program facilitation, conflict resolution;
  • should have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills;
  • must be confident and competent in crisis interventions and keep up-to-date with professional knowledge.

Services and Programs Officers are required to undertake offender assessments for case planning and delivery of programs and services for offenders to reduce the risk of re-offending and support integration into the community. They are part of a case management team and must provide reports to courts and the State Parole Authority as required.
