Work experience

The City of Melbourne offers work experience placements for secondary and tertiary students throughout the year dependant on available opportunities.

We recognise and understand the importance of work experience and the benefits that it provides to both students and the City of Melbourne.

We can only accommodate work experience opportunities for Year 10 students and those enrolled in tertiary education who require a student placement as a part of the course completion.

Students are placed within the City of Melbourne primarily to observe and learn rather than undertake activities that require extensive training or experience.

All available placements for work experience opportunities are advertised on our careers page.

We only accept applications for advertised work experience placements. Unfortunately, City of Melbourne does not accept applications without a suitable vacancy.
