Flexible work arrangements
We are strongly committed to enabling a more flexible work culture in Caltex. Over the past two years, we have concentrated our efforts to improve our practices with respect to flexible work: our leaders have participated in workshops to grow their knowledge, skills and confidence in delivering flexible work solutions in addition to the introduction of new technology offerings.
Across the organisation, many teams have implemented innovative flexible working arrangements. For example, two Process Control Engineers at our Lytton Refinery spent the year working three months on, three months off in a job share arrangement. This has given them flexibility as they approach retirement, and given Caltex significant lead-time for succession planning and training for their replacement.

Caltex recognises that returning to work after caring full-time for a newborn baby can be challenging, both emotionally and financially. In addition to providing twelve weeks paid parental leave, Caltex also supports the happy and effective return to work of our primary carer employees, with a package of benefits available up until their baby’s second birthday.
In addition we encourage employees on parental leave and their teams to stay in touch by retaining their mobile phones and laptops provided by Caltex.
About the package:
Caltex pays a 3% bonus each quarter to a primary carer once they return to work until their child’s second birthday.
