Georgia Cottrell

Transport Engineer

Beca

With a flourishing career in transport, and a keen interest to get overseas experience, Georgia wasn’t one to shy away when the opportunity to work at Beca came about.

Six months ago, she packed her bags and relocated to Wellington from the UK. Now fully settled into her new life and career, the Transport Engineer has no regrets.

A typical day for Georgia is spent out and about, meeting clients, and helping them make better transport decisions.

She is taking full advantage of learning on the job and gaining experience from the range of tasks that come her way. Her most recent projects have seen her work closely with key Beca clients on traffic assessments and developing business case reports.

A keen writer, she was offered specialist training facilitated by Beca to further hone her writing skills – helping her write even more compelling business cases.

To continue developing her career, Georgia is challenging herself by doing work in different areas, with particular interest in public transport networks across New Zealand.

When she’s not busy meeting potential clients, you’ll find Georgia exploring all that her new home Wellington has to offer, especially the different cuisine and coffee culture.

With a career move that’s taking her forward in leaps and bounds and giving her the chance to connect with new groups of people, Georgia is quick to acknowledge she made the right choice by coming to Beca.
