About Me

I lived the majority of my life in Port Arthur, TX and in September of 2006, moved to Houston, TX and started a new life in the city. I’m married with one daughter who’s a sophomore in college. I like to attend events where I can socialize and meet new people. I’m driven by success and learning new things.

My BASF

My 8 years at BASF has truly been a rewarding experience. I was a BASF-Sabina Petrochemical scholarship recipient for the Process Operating Technology Program, at Lamar Institute of Technology, in which I completed and was offered a position as a Production Technician at the Port Arthur site. After a few years in this role, I rose to a Senior Production Tech position. After working several years in this role, I was ready for a new challenge. I took advantage of the tuition reimbursement program and enrolled in classes for my undergrad degree in Environmental Policy and Management. Soon after graduation, I decided I wanted to go into a business role within the company and was offer the opportunity to go into Procurement. As a Procurement Agent, I provided Procurement support for several sites across NA. A huge part of my role was to support supplier’s performance and manage relationships, which was as huge contribution to driving continuous improvement. Procurement provided a great business foundation, as it allowed me to meet other BASF colleagues throughout North America, in various business functions, as we worked together to solve many business issues. After working 2 years in Procurement, I was ready for another new challenge and was awarded an opportunity to join the Supply Chain group in CPN. In my new role, I’m the strategic planning and master scheduler for the Acrylic Monomers and Oxo Alcohol Business. I work closely with Commercial, Operations, and Finance teams, to rectify demand/supply imbalances. I’m responsible for maintaining product inventory levels throughout the supply chain that are consistent with the business goals. Once again, another opportunity to build on new skills and it’s been fantastic!

My Qualifications

I have obtained my AAS Process Operating Technology and a BS in Environmental Policy and Management. I’ve attended several continuing education classes, to include Procurement Best Practices, Contract Negotiation, and Presentation courses. I’m currently attending classes to obtain my APICS CPIM certification. I’m a member of several employee resource groups: Women In Business, African American Employee Group, and Asian Business Community. Several times a year, I attend diversity recruiting conferences with our D&I Council and Corp. HR, to assist with branding BASF and identifying potential talent, in an effort to support our corporate initiatives.

My Interests

My hobbies include reading, golf, attending wine tasting events (I’m a wine enthusiast), and spending time with family and friends. I’m also an active member with Women’s Energy Network, which is a global organization that educates, attracts, and develops professional women across the value chain.
