Work Life Balance at the ABC
The ABC has a range of flexible policies and practices designed to help people balance their work and personal lives. Access to these types of arrangements will depend on your circumstances, including work requirements, and require the agreement of your manager.
Flexible working hours
ABC staff who are not shift workers may be able to access flexitime arrangements. This allows you to vary your start and finish times around pre-determined core hours and take flexidays when sufficient hours have been accrued.
Part time hours
A part time arrangement allows you to work less hours per day or fewer days per week, with your role designed around reduced responsibilities to match the hours worked.
A job sharing arrangement usually involves dividing a full time role between two people to allow each of them to work part time.
Purchased additional leave
The ABC offers the purchase of additional annual leave subject to operational requirements so you can take more time off for study, travel or other personal reasons.
The ABC may grant study leave and financial assistance, such as contributions to course fees, to support you undertaking formal courses of study at tertiary and higher education institutions.
Working from home
Arrangements may be made for ABC employees to work from home or off-site subject to manager approval.
The ABC has arrangements with Child Care Centres in Sydney and Melbourne.
