Pay and conditions

The ABC offers competitive salaries and excellent employment conditions.

Working hours

Full time ABC employees work an average 76 hours per fortnight. Depending on the role, standard hours are Monday to Friday, or for shift workers Monday to Sunday as set out in the roster with a minimum four free days per fortnight.

Part time employees work the arrangement of hours agreed to on appointment.

Leave

The ABC has comprehensive leave conditions including annual leave, personal leave, parental leave, long service leave, purchased leave and leave without pay in special circumstances. Previous employment with a commonwealth, state or local government body may be recognised for the purposes of long service leave and personal leave entitlements.

Salary

The ABC offers competitive salaries which are reviewed annually under relevant ABC enterprise agreements. Most employees are covered by the ABC Enterprise Agreement 2016-2019.

Superannuation

The ABC gives you the opportunity to choose your own super fund or an ABC nominated fund, depending on your circumstances. The ABC nominated fund is the Public Sector Superannuation Accumulation Plan (PSSap) which offers a generous 15.4% employer contribution. If you join PSSap, you can select your level of personal contribution with investment options to suit your own investment requirements.

Salary Packaging

The ABC offers flexible salary packaging arrangements through an external provider allowing you to effectively salary sacrifice to suit your individual financial requirements. Options available include superannuation benefits, cars, childcare and laptops.
