Break 4 Health

Break 4 Health is a free outdoor group training program for employees at The Alfred, Caulfield Hospital and Sandringham Hospital.

Turn your lunch break into a fun, low intensity, 30 minute physical activity session developed by Alfred Health in partnership with Healthstream Fitness.

Fitness facilities

Fantastic onsite fitness facilities are available for our people at The Alfred and Caulfield Hospital.

Services include gym access, personal training, group classes and massage. Membership fees can be paid via payroll deduction.

Health 4 Life

Health 4 Life is a free opportunity for 25 staff members from The Alfred to be actively supported to achieve their health and wellbeing goals.

Offered annually via expressions of interest, support is valued at over $1,000 and includes Healthstream Fitness membership for six months, weekly personal training for 12 weeks and nutrition health coaching.

Healthy choices

Alfred Health is committed to providing the best possible food and drinks choices for all people who access our sites.

Our onsite retail food outlets aim to increase access to the most healthy choices and reduce access to the less healthy choices. A range of trials have taken place to learn more about food environments and how they can promote public nutrition.

Vending machines onsite also adopt healthy choices guidelines.

Sit-to-stand desks

Alfred Health aims to reduce the harm associated with prolonged sitting by supporting sit-to-stand work environments.

More than 500 employees now use sit-to-stand workstations, enabling them to work in either sitting or standing positions. A range of products are available for purchase within operating budgets.
