The Role:

As a Technical & Safety Training Advisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the continual development of a strong and committed safety and compliance culture. This is a role that will suit someone who has a natural ability to build rapport at all levels.

Your day to day will involve educating and coaching diverse groups through (1) facilitated/workshop type group settings where you will deliver tailored or regular content courses; and (2) by consulting directly with operations about their technical, safety and compliance needs.

  • Analysing and identifying the learning needs of individuals, teams and departments.
  • Advising, educating and influencing business leaders and functional areas on competency management.
  • Facilitating the development and maintenance of competency matrices, training and assessment packages.
  • Using instructional design principles to develop learning programs on a variety of subjects and delivery mediums.
  • Delivering core safety training.
  • Coaching and supporting internal Subject Matter Experts to build and deliver programs that meet adult learning principles in design, delivery and assessment.
  • Negotiating with external training providers to ensure cost effective delivery of training needs for the area.

Duties

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual who has a good depth of knowledge across the breadth of health and safety training and compliance areas.

  • Demonstrated success in a similar role
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment or equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of AQTF and its application in the workplace.
  • Contemporary knowledge of legislative statutory & regulatory codes, ethical standards and best practice.
  • Customer centric approach and credibility to influence at a senior level.
  • A 'can do' attitude, be self-directed, and results orientated.
  • Experience working in blue collar industries (experience working in a major hazard facility will be highly regarded).
