Business Analyst 508

Accurate and thorough requirements analysis will be critical to the success of projects which aim to achieve significant productivity and customer experience gains.


  • › Requirements Elicitation and Management
  • › Source and review process and system documentation, where available, to gather requirements and confirm complete coverage of as-is features
  • › Conduct workshops with SMEs across the business and technology teams to drive to-be process definition and content for user stories
  • › Document user stories to capture all requirements
  • › Manage the user story review cycle
  • › Brief development, testing and change management teams on the project requirements
  • › Consulting with business and technology SMEs to resolve queries from the development, testing and training teams
  • › Build strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders
  • › Provide a point of contact for project stakeholders relating to the delivery of business analysis activities
  • › Ensure project business analysis artefacts that are produced either internally or by external parties are of excellent standard/quality to allow successful delivery of projects and traceability of requirements
  • › Business Case Development
  • › Assist business stakeholders in developing business cases for Program Steering Committee approval

Key selection criteria Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Business Analyst delivering services in large, complex organisations
  • Demonstrated experience with requirements elicitation and management
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills across all enterprise levels
  • Must be able to write requirements using appropriate standard according to project delivery methodology/framework e.g. waterfall/agile
  • Must be able to write process diagrams using appropriate standard e.g. UML or BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation)
  • Ability to collaborate with SMEs, developers & testers
  • Ability to prepare for and facilitate face-to-face workshops
  • A strong quality orientation across a wide range of business analysis techniques
  • A strong ability to estimate, plan and manage business analysis work schedules
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Organisational and problem-solving abilities

Desirable Skills & Competencies:

  • Experience within the Telecommunications and/or Energy industry
  • Business acumen to understand business model and objectives, and ability to design solutions to improve business performance
  • Experience in / exposure to UX/CX design principles
  • Understanding of project methodologies – Agile, Prince 2 and / or PMBOK
