People and Culture Advisor

Transdev WA is seeking an experienced People and Culture Advisor to join the People and Culture Manager in supporting the business for all human resource related matters.

This is a permanent, full time opportunity that will report to the People and Culture Manager. You will join a small team that values team work, support and high performance.

A true generalist role, the successful P&C Advisor will assist the People and Culture Manager with employee relations, recruitment, generalist HR duties/advice; and take the lead on all administrative/transactional HR requirements. In this fast paced operational role, you will also have the opportunity to be mentored on the job to further increase your generalist HR skillset.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Relations/Generalist HR:

  • Delivering best practice advice on a range of HR matters including Employee Relations, our Enterprise Agreement, Performance Management, Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition and Diversity and Inclusion
  • Managing employee relations issues with the support from the P&C Manager
  • Conducting workplace investigations and supporting managers with disciplinary matters with the support of the P&C Manager
  • Maintaining productive relationships with Unions, delegates and other stakeholders.
  • Supporting the development and delivery of various HR programs
  • Supporting the review of company policies and procedures, including implementation as required.
  • Managing the relationship and administration of third party training organisations/government incentive payments
  • Leading internal recruitment i.e. internal transfers including creating expressions of interests, managing applications and supporting managers in interviews
  • Leading the coordination of bus driver assessment centres in WA utilising the back end support of shared services recruitment from head office
  • Assisting the People and Culture Manager in other HR/ER and recruitment matters 

Administrative/Transactional:

  • Drafting all employment related documentation including but not limited to employment contracts, contract variations, employment change letters, confirmation letters and individual flexibility agreements, position descriptions, warning and termination letters
  • System Data Entry i.e. employee records, scanning and electronic filing of all HR related documentation
  • Sourcing and providing HR data from our internal systems for audits, line managers and reporting purposes
  • All other administrative/transactional ad-hoc HR duties as required

Required skills:

  • Extensive experience in a HR/P&C Advisor or Senior HR Officer capacity
  • Tertiary qualifications in HR or a business-related discipline, or equivalent experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated experience in HR Administration and transactional duties
  • Demonstrated experience in providing HR/ER advice
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written abilities
  • Experience working in a unionised environment is desired but not essential

Flexibility and willingness to travel between depots within the southern Perth region will be required.
