Technical Project Manager - Fixed term to March 2020


Join Telstra Enterprise and represent Telstra’s largest customer undertaking in history! Telstra Enterprise will deliver for the Australian Defence Force’s Network Infrastructure for the next decade and beyond, supporting military operations in Australian and abroad. You will be part of the journey to transform the defence communication network and be an Enabler in its transformation in several communication technologies such as fixed telecommunications, satellite and tactical networks.

As Technical Project Manager you will be expected to meet key targets in delivery of projects with regards to time, quality and cost objectives. You will establish and maintain effective working relationships with technology and operational managers, program and project managers, peer groups, and senior stakeholders to help achieve Telstra business objectives.

 The Technical Project Manager is required to have well developed and current skills and experience in at least two of the following functional areas:

  • Integrating systems, businesses and people so that they interact effectively and efficiently with one another;
  • Developing systems engineers' products such as a mission statement, a requirements document including verification and validation, a description of functions and objects, figures of merit, a test plan, a drawing of system boundaries, an interface control document, a listing of deliverables, models, a sensitivity analysis, a trade-off study, a risk analysis, a life cycle analysis and a description of the physical architecture.;
  • Conducting trade studies and developing technical performance measures and metrics to assess system performance;
  • Developing and implementing systems engineering governance processes, including configuration, change, and release management, to establish and maintain design baselines;
  • Providing formal or de-facto leadership to other systems engineers or engineering teams to deliver successful outcomes;
  • Developing and implementing processes to manage and ensure compliance with Contractual engineering requirements.

To be successful in the role, you’ll need to demonstrate extensive industry experience in the field of System Engineering, System Architecture and/or Configuration Management. It is highly desirable if you also have:

  • MBA
  • Master of Systems Engineering
  • Previous Defence experience in delivering to ASDEFCON model

Candidates must be Australian Citizens and have current NV1 clearance minimum to be considered. This role will require you to hold and maintain an Australian Government NV1 security clearance.
