Software and DevOps Engineer

Our Assurance team listen, understand and ultimately improve the customer experience across our business including; Global Service Delivery, parts of Customer Care Mass Market and Customer Care Business. They have the passion and resilience to effectively troubleshoot and perform fault resolution to improve the customer experience and service levels.

As the Software and DevOps Engineer, you will be provide assistance in specialist analysis, design, development and deployment in specific software application layer products and solutions having due regard for how this technology inter-works with other technologies, to deliver products and application infrastructure to defined service level standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering integration projects from the current infrastructure to new tools, enhancing the services that we provide through new work planning with a particular focus on our billing systems
  • Assisting in the development of software applications element technologies to improve their interaction with Telstra processes and systems to deliver products and services to customer business units
  • Translating business requirements to deliver software applications into realisable products, services and systems
  • Assessing the capability of vendor solutions and offerings to meet business requirements and managing the vendor delivery

To be successful in the role, you'll have: 

  • Degree or equivalent in Information Technology or Computer Science
  • Experience with the MuleSoft platform
  • Experience in designing and developing microservices in accordance with SOA principles and design patterns
  • Experience in developing xml artefacts associated with Integration development, especially WSDL, XML, XSD, JSON, YAML and RAML
  • Experience with Cloud and Software-as-a-Service paradigm and enabling technologies
  • Designing and developing Microservices using native cloud programming language
  • The design, develop and support of continuous integration and continuous development (CI/CD) using BitBucket, Pipeline
  • Understanding AWS clouding technology, OpenShift, Docker, Java, Scripting language (JavaScript, groovy), Kotlin, Spring integration, Spring Boot, Camel, Gradle and MuleSoft
  • Identifying technical project priorities, implementation dependencies, risks and issues and providing solutions to ensure a successful project delivery
