Senior Technical Consultant


Our Telstra - Business Technology Services (BTS) team are embarking on an exciting high scale growth as we continue to deliver exceptional first class business and technology solutions. To do this, we’re on the hunt for an experienced, customer centric Senior Technical Consultant to join our team on a permanent full-time basis, in Canberra.

As a Senior Technical Consultant you provide a pre/post sales technology consulting services to our leading Enterprise customers. This role will see you engage with executive and senior level stakeholders to define and improve their ICT environments. Your extensive domain knowledge of Network and/or Unified Communications will see you thrive in providing customers well defined solutions.

Key accountabilities include:-

  • Drive business development through consultative engagements to influence client initiatives
  • Lead pre/post sales technology services to Enterprise customers
  • Manage and build relationships with internal (wider BTS team, Sales, Delivery and Project teams) and external stakeholders (clients and vendors).
  • Continue to utilise current industry knowledge and gain new technology knowledge to provide up to date and improved solutions to customers
  • Mentor and provide guidance to team members.

What does success looks like?

To be successful for this role, you will have the following:

  • University Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or similar Tertiary education
  • Demonstrate high-level spoken & written English
  • Demonstrated Technical Consultant experience with at least 10 medium-large complex engagements with external customers, end-to-end.
  • Familiarity of Project Methodologies with some experience performing resource and budget management across projects is highly desirable
  • Ability to maintain a mindset of continuous improvement to implement initiatives resulting in improved processes
  • Must have (NV1) active Security clearance, and the future ability to obtain a NV2 security clearance.
