Senior Commercial & Contract Manager

To support such a vision, we are currently seeking to an exceptional Senior Commercial & Contract Manager who will operate as part of the dynamic, responsive and supportive Commercial and Contract Operations team negotiating, managing and consulting on significant and complex Transformation contracts with the purpose of achieving Global Services (GS) revenue, profitability and NPS targets.

This is a full time permanent role and we are looking for the Senior Commercial & Contract Manager to start in our Melbourne office only.

A little bit about the role

Reporting into the Group Commercial Manager, your primary role will be to establish sound commercial and contract management practices, including processes and procures, relationship establishment and governance within Telstra’s BP account. Your day to day direction and advice will be to the Account Executive team, Program and Service Delivery leads, providing your extensive commercial knowledge, guidance and commercial governance to a high profile and critical account.

The Senior Commercial & Contract Manager will be responsible for

  1. Building strong and effective relationships with internal operational stakeholders (Sales, Pricing, Billing, and Delivery) to support contract deliverables
  2. Drafting, collating, and approving contract variation, commercial correspondence and associated documentation
  3. Negotiating contract variations, project proposals, SOWs and other commercial documents to provide optimum commercial outcomes
  4. Ensuring legal compliance and review contract changes for commercial risks
  5. Identification of mitigation of risks regarding cost, delivery, service levels associated with the Services
  6. Act as a commercial escalation point and liaise with offshore contract management support team to provide a comprehensive contract management function to the region

In order to hit the ground running we are looking for individuals who can confidently demonstrate the following

  • Demonstrated experience in being an agent of change and building trust amongst stakeholders, clients and third parties
  • Extensive demonstrated experience managing and/or negotiating complex Information Communications Technology (ICT) contracts and associated service level agreements and/or project solutions/offers and ensuring a least risk commercial outcome
  • Demonstrated persuasion, commercial management and negotiation skills and experience within complex commercial arrangements
  • Applied experience in providing service delivery commercial advice, service level interpretation and management, project proposal assessments and transformation commercial management
  • Good project management skills with the proven ability to manage multiple issues/projects simultaneously, manage stakeholder engagement and meet tight deadlines
  • High degree of numeracy with financial awareness and ability to provide analytical support to the development of proposals and offers
  • Commercial experience in a telecommunications environment
  • Experience in working with a remote team to provide consolidated and unified support to internal stakeholders
