We’re just over a hundred people on one floor in Melbourne’s Docklands. We have a start-up feel, with corporate backing. We’re full of customer-loving, product-shaping, market-creating and technology-building people; passionate about getting things right for our customers. We have a bias for people with mix of skills and willingness to wear multiple hats. There’s no room for heroes or egos. We are one team.

To support our rapid growth, improve our speed to market, deliver data-driven, automated and customer centric digital experiences we are renewing all our platforms from the ground up.  We’ve set up cross-functional agile teams covering our all our systems.

·         Communicates. The good, the bad and the ugly.  Always gives it and receives it, with the best intent of getting the right outcome for our customers, employees & partners.

·         Never walks past a problem – be it a code error, a fire hazard or a messy kitchen – raise it, fix it, own it, and encourage your colleagues to do the same.

What will be your purpose?

We are seeking an experienced API Engineer to be a critical member of a cross-function agile team.

Your purpose will be to solve some of the biggest integration challenges which will create value for our customers. You will be responsible for driving a connected customer experience through creating robust APIs at scale, building features in the right way and setting clear data driven objectives teams can learn from.

You will have a key role in enabling people by sharing best practice, influencing teams on API design patterns and principles and using data to drive decisions.

You must be Melbourne based, or willing to relocate.

What will you bring?

  • Demonstrated experience in API Development (API, Mulesoft, AnyPoint Studio, DataWeave, RAML 1.0)
  • Proven success and experience in API strategy, development and management
  • Understanding of modern web applications and SPAs
  • Experience with API integration patterns and programming standards and how best they apply on the MuleSoft platform
  • Familiar with leading technologies enabling DevOps (CI & CD processes)
  • Familiar with API Management concepts and capabilities (Security, Authentication, Policies, RESTful service design principles, Git versioning, etc.)
  • Experience with Java based concepts e.g. Spring MVC
  • Ability to deliver complex technology programs in agile environments
  • Understand full life-cycle integration platforms in SaaS environments  
  • Strong knowledge of AWS   

Desired qualifications:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • One or more current MuleSoft Certifications are preferred (MuleSoft Certified Developer - MCD)
  • Java Certification
  • AWS Certified associate level certification

Critical skills:

  • Ability to make design decisions for application development
  • Strong debugging/troubleshooting skills
  • Structured problem-solving strategies and techniques to identify, analyse, evaluate and implement solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to write technical specifications
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to build strong relationships in a team environment
