Maintenance Supervisor

We have an opportunity for a Maintenance Supervisor to join our state of the art retirement community Stockland Cardinal Freeman, based in Ashfield New South Wales.  Cardinal Freeman Retirement Village has been recently re-developed to include high-rise apartments, and is conveniently located within Sydney’s Inner West with transport facilities close by.

This is a full-time permanent opportunity Monday to Friday, no weekends.

As our onsite Maintenance Supervisor you will oversee a variety of maintenance and general grounds tasks ensuring the continued comfort, safety and happiness of our valued residents.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preventative maintenance, including oiling pergolas, filter cleans and managing annual fire alarm checks
  • Completing minor internal repairs in units and around the village including basic electrical and plumbing, carpentry and painting needs
  • Ensuring all communal areas are tidy and well-maintained, removing rubbish etc.
  • General gardening including lawn mowing and pruning, as well as ensuring the irrigation systems are working as required
  • Assisting with ad hoc projects as required
  • Inducting and managing contractors on site, ensuring they adhere to safety requirements

As Cardinal Freeman is a developing community with further builds in progress, the successful candidate will need to be able to liaise with our internal project management and development teams to manage any new build defect requests.  They will also need to manage requests within budgetary requirements and perform basic administrative tasks associated with maintenance.

About You

You will be a reliable and personable individual looking for a flexible hands-on role where you can make a positive difference. Bringing with you a wide variety of general handy skills, you will feel confident stepping up to a range of maintenance and gardening tasks.

In addition, you will also;

  • Have previous experience working in a maintenance, grounds officer or supervisory role. A previous trade qualification would be advantageous
  • Demonstrate high attention to detail and adherence to Work, Health and Safety
  • Take pride in consistently delivering a high quality of work
  • Be confident interacting and communicating with a wide variety of people, including our elderly residents and internal Stockland teams
  • Have basic administration skills, including managing emails

This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about what they do, enjoys variety and would like to make a real difference in our Retirement Villages.
