HR Consultant

Your Role

Reporting to the HR Services Manager, your new role will see you responsible for enabling employees and people managers to use self-service, acting as the first point of contact within the HR function, project lead and provide key support with HR programs/initiatives and provide a continuous improvement approach to all HR processes, with a heighten focus on the customer experience. You will ensure the highest customer service is provided to all employees by identifying the customer need, solution options and making recommendations.

Specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Responding to and delivering a high quality, consistent customer service experience.
  • Providing accurate and supportive advice to all employees in areas such as HR policies, procedures and systems.
  • Contributing to the delivery of key business initiatives in the HR People Plan.
  • Project leading agreed annual HR Programs across the business.
  • Developing employees and people managers understanding of core HR activities, including talent and succession, engagement, reward and recognition and performance appraisals.
  • Promoting our new HRMS, whilst guiding and navigating employees.
  • Providing advisory support for informal coaching conversations with people managers.

About You

To be successful in this role you will display:

  • Tertiary education in HR, business or related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Previous experience working within a HR Function.
  • Experience with interpretation of policy, procedures and industrial instruments.
  • HR/ER or business experience in a commercial environment.
  • Technical experience with HRM systems.
  • Knowledge and experience in change and project management frameworks.
  • Always striving for excellence, by being customer focused

With excellent problem solving, planning and communication skills, you are someone who builds trusting working relationships with your peers and managers. As a member of the HR Services team, you will actively collaborate and engage with your peers to foster a curious and inclusive culture and team environment. Knowledge of performance/grievance handling processes and experience in coaching and advising people managers is desirable.
