Development Manager - Built Form


A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Victoria Residential development team as a Development Manager with a Built-Form background

Reporting into a Project Director for residential development, you will lead the growth Strategy and Implementation for Completed Homes (low and medium density built form) across Stockland Victoria. A unique product proposition amongst the established housing market.

As a Development Manager for Completed Homes you will:

  • Collaborate with the Residential Communities project teams for forward planning, stock allocation, product selection, pricing, marketing and sales
  • Take accountability for financial performance including seeking financial approvals, reporting, budgeting, risk assessment, cost management and cash flow management
  • Drive enquiry and sales in conjunction with internal project teams and external agents
  • Co-ordinate and manage the internal and external project team and delivery process necessary for the business unit to deliver outcomes in line with the approved 5 year long term forecast.
  • Monitor constantly the established market and competitor activity in relation to the direction and performance of the project(s), implement product changes in conjunction with members of the cross functional project team when applicable to maintain competitiveness.
  • Seek and maintain a library of industry, market and competitor activity to inform decisions in relation to the direction and performance.
  • Take a market led approach to product development and innovation
  • Provide thought leadership on strategic issues and work with project executives and interstate Completed Homes executives to ensure national, state and project goals are achieved.
  • Appoint and manage external sales agents and key channel partners.
  • Manage builder partners with a strong focus on product selection, cost optimisation, delivery and process management and improvement
  • Maintain and drive improvement in the customer experience along the whole customer journey.

About you:

  • Self-motivated and driven with solid experience managing multi-disciplinary teams who delivered successful built form outcomes
  • Proven commercial acumen
  • Expertise in financial management including, project cost, revenue and risk management
  • Working knowledge of the built form development industry with a focus on key drivers and the ability to tailor the product mix to suit varying market trends/consumer sentiment
  • Proven application of sales and marketing techniques / frameworks
  • A strong communicator with first class Stakeholder Management skills with a proven track record of working with diverse Stakeholders to achieve outstanding results
  • Driving licence essential
