Cook - Bellevue Gardens


We have an opportunity for an Cook to join the team at our Bellevue Gardens Retirement Village located in Port Macquarie. This is a permanent part time role working 11 hours per week generally Friday and Saturday 9am – 2:30pm.


The Opportunity 


As the Village Cook you will be responsible for delivering best practice in the preparation of meals according to the set menu and directing the food preparation process and any other related food service activities to ensure the serving of nourishing, palatable and attractive meals for residents that are consistent with the food service budget.


Your tasks will include: 


•    Preparation of our resident's main meals
•    Meet the special dietary needs of residents with medical conditions. For example; diabetes, low cholesterol, or low fat etc
•    Ensuring high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and safety are maintained at all time in the kitchen and dining areas 
•    Engaging and communicating with residents in a positive manner
•    Working closely with kitchen staff to ensure meals are served correctly
•    Ensure full compliance with health & safety requirements 

About You 


You are a motivated, people oriented, team player with a passion for delivering meals that warm your customer’s hearts. Bringing with you prior experience as a cook/chef within a café, restaurant or hotel environment, you will be comfortable preparing a variety of food and have experience with short order cooking. Previous experience in Aged Care/Catering operations/Functions will be viewed favourably. 


Additionally, you will have exceptional personal and food hygiene standards and a commitment to maintaining this. Furthermore, you will be able to effectively build and maintain strong working relationships with the team and residents alike, and be passionate about delivering exceptional customer service. Applicants for this position must ideally possess a Certificate I or II in Hospitality/Food Services.
