Software Engineer


Join a talented and diverse Technology team that develops and maintains critical surveillance solutions for our Risk Management business.

As a member of our high performing team, you’ll be working on several exciting and holistic surveillance initiatives to detect insider threats to the organisation. You will be using various state of the art technologies to build real-time solutions on Big Data platforms.

In this role, you’ll design, develop, test (unit & automation), implement and maintain Big Data solutions with a focus on quality and DevOps principles. You’ll be provided with a diverse range of full stack development opportunities, including Web Services and APIs. In addition, you’ll showcase the ability to communicate problems and solutions effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.

As the successful candidate in this role will have:

  • practical experience in Core and Enterprise Java
  • the ability to handle large volumes of unstructured data
  • experience in Cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, Openstack)
  • solid experience using and developing RESTful APIs (Jason, JAX-RS)
  • experience working with XML data including parsing tools and libraries such as XSLT
  • basic skills in UNIX scripting
  • exposure to a DevOps environment and production support
  • experience in Big Data technologies such as Cloudera, Apache, Hadoop is desirable.
