Enterprise Data and Intelligent Automation - Customer

As an Software Engineering - Chapter Lead, you will form part of the Enterprise Data and Intelligent Automation Customer Tribe within Enterprise Data and Intelligent Automation Domain.

The main focus of our Tribe is to create a system of people, process and technology (on premise and cloud), built for agility, to provide data and capabilities for our customer facing business areas to create business and customer value, by being in the moment with our customers.

You will be part of a fantastic team that will engineer, design, build, test and support applications for Cloud Data Platforms. You will work closely with squad members to ensure outcomes meet customer expectations.

 
What does a 'day in the life' look like

  • Works in collaboratively with teams to build innovative solutions to deliver MDM Platforms ANZ.
  • Utilises tools and practices to build, verify and deploy solutions in the most efficient ways, enhancing Enterprise Data and Intelligent Automation capabilities
  • Implements a culture within the Tribe and the Chapter, encouraging best practices around reviews, quality and documentation
  • Contributes to Engineering communities, meetups and conferences to promote technology development culture and practices
  • Provides ongoing support for platforms as required e.g. problem and incident management
  • Creates estimates and continuously reviews demand within the individual Squads/teams
  • Understands and implements monitoring application metrics
  • Deep expertise in engineering combined with broad capability and a proven ability to innovate and adapt to the latest developments
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to inspire, mentor, coach and develop others
  • Ability to quickly grasp new content and the ability to translate this to your Chapter
  • Proven analytical skills and data-driven decision maker

Role Skills and Responsibilities

What will be in your toolkit

  • You will have a background in software engineering along with experience in implementing complex solutions
  • You will have a solid understanding of Java/J2EE/Spring/Microservice development to be able to design, implement and triage defects or issues
  • You have experience with build automation tools and testing tools like maven, gradle, Mockito, Junit
  • You have experience working with container technologies like Docker, OpenShift and Kubernetes.
  • Webspehere Application Server experience is desired but not mandatory
  • Data mastering/matching (preferably IBM MDM Advanced Edition) experience is a bonus
  • Experience working with operations and architecture groups developing scalable and supportable solutions (desired but not mandatory)
  • Understand customer needs to make sound judgments
  • Pay attention to the detail and demonstrates problem solving capability to develop and deliver quality solutions
  • Demonstrates an understanding of good software engineering practices including CI/CD, Automated testing, Reliability engineering
  • Led high performing diverse teams
  • Successfully led people through change
  • Demonstrated the ability to coach and mentor team members
  • Developed personal expertise or deep domain knowledge and contributed
  • to the development of others’ expertise and capability
