Outreach Volunteer Coordinator - Shared Role




Working within a small team based out of St Vincent’s Private Clinic in Darlinghurst, and coordinating over 200 active volunteers, the Volunteer Coordinator plays a vital role in driving the volunteer and student placement program whilst providing ongoing support to existing volunteers. The shared role coordinates volunteer resources to support the delivery of Outreach programs at various Sydney Locations. The successful applicant will manage recruitment and selection of volunteers and provide guidance support, resources, training and tools to volunteers and staff.

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney provides the payroll and human resources services for St Vincent’s Clinic and as such the legal employment entity for Outreach staff is St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney.



About the Role



Working within a small team based out of St Vincent’s Private Clinic in Darlinghurst, and coordinating over 200 active volunteers, the Volunteer Coordinator plays a vital role in driving the volunteer and student placement program whilst providing ongoing support to existing volunteers. The shared role coordinates volunteer resources to support the delivery of Outreach programs at various Sydney Locations. The successful applicant will manage recruitment and selection of volunteers and provide guidance support, resources, training and tools to volunteers and staff.



A major component of the Volunteer Coordinator role is to manage and maintain the training program for volunteers. This will involve establishing and delivering training and continuous improvement programs to all volunteers across various programs. The successful applicant will conduct volunteer training needs assessments; develop effective course/training timetables; design and develop training programs and facilitate the delivery of both mandatory and optional training sessions.


About the Candidate

The role will provide the delivery of timely, effective and confidential administration support for Outreach programs and assist with information, management and coordination for volunteers and staff.


The candidate must have:

  • Previous experience in Volunteer Management and Coordination
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and coordinating training programs for volunteers.
  • Extensive experience in office management
  • Extensive experience in a not for profit volunteer based organisation
  • Strong people management and leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Accurate record keeping
