About You

You are a collaborative, driven and enthusiastic People and Capability (P&C) professional, with a strong customer focus and a passion for coaching and leading others. You have an influential and engaging approach, and have significant experience as a Human Resources (HR) generalist in both Shared Services and Operational environments. Your comprehensive knowledge across organisational development; employment legislation, employee and industrial relations and business partnering to achieve contractual outcomes will allow you to provide dedicated Advisory support to customers, demonstrating best practice P&C advice. In addition to this your exceptional skills in either change management; internal HR policy and practice development/review; global mobility or remuneration and benefits will make you stand out from the crowd. You demonstrate exceptional moral values in all that you do.


About the Role

Based in Villawood and reporting to the Regional P&C Manager East, you will deliver on customer commitments to support overall Business and Contract objectives by developing collaborative relationships with line managers, and acting as the primary contact point for all employee and manager queries through the HRA service. You will advise managers and employees on policy, procedure and best practice within the standard operating model, including advice regarding the operation of Serco SOPs and applicable industrial instruments. You will also participate in the development of peers/ HR Advisors and HR Administrators through coaching and mentoring, contributing to and supporting a high-performing team by demonstrating support for others, self-directed learning, openness, trust, collaboration and high-quality customer service.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour
  • Extensive ER/IR Investigations experience
  • Experience in interpreting and advising re Industrial Instruments and associated employment conditions
  • Experience in unionised environments both blue and white collar
  • Solid understanding of the Australian employment framework and legislation
  • Strong knowledge of HR information systems and technology (i.e. SAP), processes and tools
  • Strong experience understanding and interpreting industrial instruments and policy application
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or related discipline, or significant relevant experience
