Senior VMware Engineer

The Virtualisation team at Macquarie is responsible for the support and improvement of on premise and vendor managed VMware platforms using Dell EMC/VBlock and HP hardware. We value innovation, automation and diversity to enhance and accelerate the capabilities we deliver to our business.

Technically you should possess the following:

  • strong knowledge of hardware virtualization technologies, specifically VMware vSphere versions 6.5, 6.7 and the vRealize suite
  • a deep understanding of virtual architecture and solutions that provide high availability, resiliency, and recoverability in an enterprise environment
  • extensive experience in operations and management of VMware environments backed by storage arrays (3PAR, VMAX, VPLEX and all-flash arrays) and converged solutions
  • ability to automate tasks using VMware’s PowerCLI and PowerShell
  • strong problem-solving skills with a focus on business outcomes, specifically in a global and dynamic business environment
  • ability to get into the detail and work through existing architectures to identify technical gaps in capability
  • documentation skills in referencing existing and developing new materials where required
  • proven ability in operational handover for projects completed to ensure clear and successful transitions.
