What is the role?

Based in Adelaide, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Test Engineer to join the Test and Certification Team. Reporting to the Test and Certification Manager, you will play a pivotal role in checking products for compliance and participate in the design process through interpretation of Australian and International standards. You will be testing products during and at the completion of the design process and testing further for compliance with special market requirements. You will also conduct field return investigations.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Participate in the development of newly designed products for Australian & Overseas markets.

  • Conduct research related to the performance of electrical equipment including accessories, switchgear, protection systems and appliances relevant to electrical safety and performance standards;

  • Prepare accurate and detailed test plans that include relevant technical and commercial considerations;

  • Evaluate products both to the standard requirements as well as to the special market requirements;

  • Conduct approval testing of electrical equipment including accessories to the requirements of Australian or International Standards;

  • Design specific test set-ups and procedures with built-in safety features to be used in Laboratory for testing.

  • Interpret test results, their practical implications, and provide recommendations to the design team. 

  • Share test progress updates and reports.

Additionally, you will possess the following essential skills and experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering /Technology or equivalent desirable;

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in testing of electrical equipment (Essential);

  • Strong understand of testing requirements and electrical engineering;

  • Proven ability to physically connect an electrical system;

  • Knowledge of basic computer software applications;

  • Ability to interpret standards;

  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills;

  • Commitment to diversity of thought and innovation.
