Systems Engineer Photovoltaic and Storage Plants

Based in Brisbane, we have an opportunity for an individual to join our solar team as a Power System Engineer for Photovoltaic and Storage plants. 

This opening will provide an opportunity to demonstrate your ability to model the dynamic behavior of photovoltaic plants in regards to grid connection constraints. You will also support our sales application engineering team by providing modelling of inverters and Power plant controller required by specific projects.


Specific responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Be recognized as the source of expert support of the photovoltaic plant modelling in PSS/E and PSCAD (internally and externally)
  • Contribute to the update of the power plant controller models in PSS/E, PSCAD and PowerFactory software
  • Update the model and documentation as per the needs of the projects
  • Provide the specifications, and perform the validation and commissioning of the PPC for PV plants in Australia

We believe that instrumental to the success of this role will be: 

  • A solid track record as a Power System engineer with exceptional knowledge of electrical grids, photovoltaic inverters, grid connection constraints, grid codes
  • You will have advanced levels of competencies with modelling software including PSS/E, PSCAD
  • Knowledge of automation software to include Schneider Electric PLC (Unity Pro)
  • You will have strong communication skills specifically with technical English and be comfortable in an international team
  • You will be result-oriented, rigorous, passionate, responsive, autonomous, a critical thinker, problem solver and a self driven multitasker
