Senior Firmware Developer

In 2017 Schneider Electric was ranked in the Top 10 places to work in Australia and top 25 globally! We offer a flexible work environment enabling you to take control of how you get your work done. We are global specialists in energy management and automation and our technologies ensure that Life Is On everywhere, for everyone at every moment.

Based at Gepps Cross in Adelaide and reporting to the Head of Offer Development, we have an opportunity for an agile and innovative Senior Firmware Developer to join our high performing Buildings Business.

You will be contributing to the Product Development team in the execution of projects and be responsible for the design of firmware for new projects whilst supporting and maintaining the firmware design of existing products.

Whilst not wanting to narrow the field, we do believe that the following will be key to your success:

  • Previous experience in a similar role in a Product Development environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the design of C language firmware for small microcontroller targets
  • Current experience with ARM Cortex M0+/M4 based microcontrollers
  • Experience in the design of serial protocols.
  • Familiarity with software development life cycle including unit testing, version control, bug tracking tools
  • A degree qualification in Electronics or Software Engineering or equivalent

Whilst not essential, knowledge in the areas of lighting control, TCP/IP, embedded Linux, Lua, javascript, cybersecurity, and low power wireless technology will be an advantage.

You have excellent communication skills and a strong team focus; you thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment and enjoy working on multiple projects with diverse stakeholders to achieve outstanding results.

You are highly organised and manage competing priorities well; an effective problem solver, you enjoy the challenge of identifying or creating solutions.

Developing great relationships and solutions to satisfy your customers drives and motivates you!

Innovation and cutting-edge technology excite you!

At Schneider Electric, we are open, we value differences, we listen, we learn, connect, and collaborate with others. We are proud to promote diversity, inclusion and work-life integration – we’re a great place to work and are continually striving to be the best place to work, join us and see how!

All applicants must have working rights in Australia at the time of application and will be required to provide documented evidence if selected for interview.
