Business Development Manager - Major Pursuits

We have an interesting and highly varied opportunity for an experienced business developer with a focus on major pursuits. This critical role is responsible for developing and growing business opportunities and increasing revenue for our Power Systems, Power Products and Industrial Automation businesses. 
The key aims of this role will be to pursue and win targeted projects in identified segments with a strong focus on SA. Success will be achieved by evaluating market trends and business fundamentals, identifying opportunities, engaging customers and ultimately effective delivery of mutually beneficial commercial outcomes.


What sets you apart? The energy landscape is a familiar canvass to you, and you enjoy strong relationships with both End Customers and EPCs. You have an exceptional understanding of the challenges facing our customers in Australia with experience in at least one of the core pursuits segments (Mining, Defence, Oil and Gas, Renewables, Infrastructure & Transport or Water) Your business development experience likely includes both product and solution sales with engineers and asset managers, right through to strategic value chain propositions with senior decision makers.

The successful profile will include as a minimum the following attributes

  • A fearless approach to business development and a passion for uncovering large scale opportunities
  • A solid understanding of the energy and/or industrial automation related applications
  • An enviable track record of consistently meeting sales targets and objectives
  • A collaborative and solution driven approach and capability to sell a broad Schneider Electric portfolio
  • Strong commercial sensibility, and be influential and prescriptive with end users and consultants
  • Highly developed written & verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships 
  • Ability to drive performance excellence within a highly competitive market
  • Senior experience in business development in energy, automation or an electro-technology related environment.
  • Forward-thinking and collaborative
