Join PwC's Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team as a Senior Consultant and create growth and change which are key to improving and unlocking shareholder value.
 
The M&A team facilitates this process through offering clients lead advisory services, and integrated solutions through the various PwC lines of service, in relation to divestments, acquisitions and capital raising initiatives.

M&A is an integral part of our Deals offering to our clients and is closely aligned to PwC's unrivalled global network, thus able to facilitate specific cross-border transactions covering, in particular, New Zealand, Asia, Europe, Africa and the US. PwC's M&A team is a mid-market leader in Australia (in Asia and around the world), comprising around 30 partners and staff across each of the major capital cities.
 
The M&A team develops and fosters relationships with clients at both shareholder and senior management levels, thereby gaining a solid understanding of their strategic priorities. PwC then provide independent advice and directly assist clients to execute their objectives through:

  • Divestment of businesses - Advising on optimal sale structures (e.g. IPO vs trade sale); identify and approach potential buyers; prepare the necessary marketing materials; manage the due diligence process (tax, legal, financial etc); provide valuation advice and assist with negotiations through to the completion of the transaction;
  • Acquisitions - Helping clients identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets; providing valuation advice; assisting with negotiations, managing the due diligence process (tax, legal, financial etc) and assisting with the procurement of acquisition finance.

About you
You will be enthusiastic, professional and committed team-player who is looking to join this exciting and fast-paced team within PwC.
 
To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Completed a relevant tertiary qualification in Business/Commerce/Finance or related qualification.
  • 1-3 years previous experience in corporate finance and valuation, financial accounting, financial modelling and industry analysis is critical,
  • Post-graduate qualifications such as CA, MBA or Masters in Finance. will be highly favoured
  • Consulting experience from a similar professional environment
  • A commercial and strategic focus in influencing and advising clients
  • Able to present solutions in a clear and articulate manner, tailoring style to suit the needs of the client
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • A team focussed style with strong organisational and project management skills
  • Self-motivated, confident and proactive
  • The desire to build on your commercial, change management, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Adaptability and flexibility
  • Strong focus on building client relationships - internal and external
  • Ability to speak a 2nd language i.e. Mandarin is desirable
