Join PwC’s Independence team as a Senior Manager. The independence team helps the firm, its partners and staff to manage a range of regulatory and professional requirements which require it to be independent from its audit and assurance clients.

The position involves working on a daily basis with senior members of the Independence team and with client facing partners and staff on a variety of independence matters, providing advice, administering key compliance procedures and working on projects. The successful candidate needs to be able to think laterally to find constructive, pragmatic and timely solutions to the many independence issues that arise.

You will:

  • Provide expert advice and support to the business on independence matters;
  • Maintain the firm's independence policies so that they comply with regulatory and professional requirements;
  • Plan and supervise the key compliance projects and processes and ensuring compliance with various internal firm or network requirements;
  • Develop and support of a team that operates the various  independence compliance systems;
  • Preparation and presentation of training in independence requirements;
  • Assisting in the preparation of submissions to regulators and policy updates;
  • Assisting PwC firms in other territories with global independence requirements applicable to them.

About you

You have a solid background in assurance, tax, legal, compliance, risk or other professional analytical background to take on a senior role in PwC’s Independence team. You will have:

  • Strong analytical skills to be able to analyse matters against the relevant policy requirements;

  • A willingness to work alongside the business to provide practical and timely advice;
  • Able to quickly learn new skills and adapt to new ways of working;
  • Experienced in managing and motivating a team;
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written) skills;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Good project management skills;
  • A positive, proactive and professional approach;
  • Excited by challenge, the ability to problem-solve and perform under pressure against tight deadlines.
