Purchasing Specialist - Corporate

The role:

The Purchasing Specialist work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with Procure to Pay related policy, process while identifying and highlighting opportunities for developing contracts to the relevant Category Managers .

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • monitor and ensure adherence to KPI’s and improvement targets in relation to the Corporate Purchasing function
  • identify improved ways of managing suppliers to achieve better performance and outcomes
  • identify and provide training and support to stakeholders
  • manage disputes to maintain strong relationships and successful commercial outcomes
  • conduct market research for potential vendors
  • initiate request for quotes and compare and evaluate offers from suppliers
  • negotiate pricing and potentially develop low to medium complexity contracts where required
  • manage nominated contracts and participate in supplier reviews to ensure high performance
  • maintain ERP system with contractual information
  • track orders and ensure timely delivery
  • convert Purchase Requisitions into Purchase Orders

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • tertiary qualifications associated with Procurement; Business or Commerce
  • demonstrable experience in management of external suppliers and vendors
  • commercial acumen & experience in purchase negotiations
  • proven ability to work effectively in a matrix management environment
  • an understanding of a mature procurement environment, including purchasing policies and processes
