National Payroll Manager

To continue our success, we currently have an opening to join our team as a National Payroll Manager. This role would see you assume accountability and responsibility for the complete Australia and New Zealand Payroll function by utilising knowledge, experience, and analytical skills to lead and drive the Payroll Services team from both an operational and strategic standpoint. This role works closely with the business to ensure Payroll function is appropriately geared up for a continuously changing environment. This involves a high level of forward planning to ensure that payroll services are delivered without significant impact on team or incremental operational costs. We need someone with strong management skills and the ability to inspire and lead the Payroll Team, with the sincere desire to establish and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

You will be:

  • Managing and controlling all facets of the payroll function for Australia and New Zealand
  • Supporting payroll related projects to streamline processes and continue the journey towards becoming ‘best in class’ payroll function
  • Implementing and managing all Collective agreement and Focal Point Review updates along with Bonus payments
  • Responsible for managing all training initiatives within the department by encouraging and coaching the team to build skills
  • Ensuring compliance to legislative requirements when updating/testing any new software
  • Identifying areas of opportunities and gaps in current work practices
  • Controlling and managing working relationships within the business; building cross functional unity with all stakeholders

You will have:

  • Full Australian working rights with no restrictions
  • 6+ years proven management experience in a large volume and complex payroll environment
  • Solid understanding of end to end payroll processing and payroll accounting
  • High attention to detail and time management skills (with the ability to work to non-negotiable tight deadlines)
  • Sound tax and payroll legislative knowledge with moderate exposure to payment of expatriates
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and analytical/ problem solving abilities
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • ASX/US listed experience (ideal)
