Senior Analyst - Consumer Media View 


The Nielsen Marketing Effectiveness solution seeks an experienced analyst with strong client service credentials to be the key data specialist working on the Consumer & Media View service.

The Marketing Effectiveness team help their clients answer the critical question, “How effective is my marketing and media strategy?” Through syndicated research data sets, we help our media clients across print, TV and online prove the efficacy of their media offerings. Conversely, we enable our advertiser clients to develop the most effective media strategy.

Analysts in this team are not only good at reading and interpreting data but have an astute understanding of their client’s business issues and make solid data driven recommendations to solve these issues.

We have strong client service skills and pride in having clients who consider us to be partners and trust the recommendations we make.

We are a small team and enjoy taking complete ownership of our work and clients. We act proactively and work with minimal supervision but have the support of the wider analyst group and product team.

We are story-tellers and can confidently and convincingly present the research to all key stakeholders, who can be research professionals, senior managers and decision makers. We are comfortable discussing technical details with highly proficient data users, and just as importantly able to explain data and insights to non-technical audiences.

Most importantly, we are team players. We are not afraid to take initiative and have opinions. We work hard and everybody actively contributes to a team environment of learning, fun and community.

Minimum qualifications -

  • Strong foundations: Solid understanding of research methodologies, media planning principles and media metrics (print readership, TV audience & online audience measurement).
  • Exceptional client service: Ability to build and nurture client relationships through proactive and consultative problem solving.
  • Story-telling: Ability to go beyond merely ‘reading’ numbers to making actionable recommendations. Presenting ideas and research findings to key client stakeholders in a language and style that is most familiar and suitable to them.
  • Stakeholder & Project Management: Ability to manage stakeholders both internally and externally to ensure quick troubleshooting and quality and timely delivery of the project.

Preferred qualifications –

  • 3-5 years of experience working in a client facing role in media planning or market research
  • Experience in training and demonstrating software or product functionality
  • Experience in contributing to thought leadership within and outside the organisation
