Associate Director – New Business (Retail Industry Group)

You will MAKE A DIFFERENCE by partnering with our clients and using data to explain what is happening within their category and with their products and what they should do to improve business performance.

Working with both your Nielsen colleagues and spending time with clients, you will build partnerships to allow you to understand your client needs and requirements. You'll use this knowledge to develop in depth analytics and create compelling stories that deliver the insight to drive business growth.

The Opportunity:
Build and maintain a strong networking and engagement with key players in client and is comfortable talking to a wide range of decision influencers. Make sure we expand our network at the client (breadth and depth of relationship). 

Duties

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all sales activities
  • Ensures sales team is responsible for proposal writing, contract negotiations, renewals and ad hoc sales targets
  • Leverage Client Engagement Model to develop effective client engagement and identify client needs to maximize Nielsen opportunities.
  • Coordinate sales support levels with clients
  • Partners with Analytics and Practice teams to drive seamless delivery to clients
  • Works with other Sales leaders and Analytic team leaders to meet the needs of clients in the most efficient and effective way
  • Where appropriate will work with Analytics leaders to help design solutions and deliver results to clients"
  • Team Management, Coaching and training of others on the team.
  • Drives the performance management and succession planning process in the team and develop key talent for future needs to ensure the best talent is retained.

To be successful in this role:

  • Excellent awareness of market conditions and client business environment
  • Very good client-facing and communication/presentation skills
  • Financial understanding (eg. P&L, EBITDA) and how this relates to business success
  • Excellent business English, both verbal and written
  • Solid problem solving skills, solution oriented and good analytical skills
  • Very good organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrates excellent client leadership
  • Team management experience
