New opportunity for a Lending Manager to join Macquarie's growing Banking & Financial Services business.

Due to expansion we have an opportunity available in Sydney for a highly motivated individual to join our team as Team Leader. This role offers the opportunity to grow your existing skill set within a leading organisation, with excellent opportunities to develop and progress in the future.

Macquarie's residential mortgages portfolio has had a significant period of growth reaching $13.6 billion.

The successful Team Leader will be comfortable working in a fast moving and changing environment, you must be success driven and seek continual improvement. This is a challenging role in a people focused, success driven environment which is ever changing. The role is required to drive performance and lead the team through all lending functions; this includes ownership of all applications from lodgement through to instruction of solicitors for settlement and management of all stakeholders at a local level, including; loan assessments, liaising with mortgage insurers and residential property values, inbound and outbound calls to mortgage brokers.

Accountable for the delivery of the agreed service level standards and key performance measures for the team, for assessing and managing team performance, identifying training and development needs across the division and continuing to engage and motivate a high performing team that is integral to the ongoing success of the business. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Management to key performance measures including financial, client service, service quality, credit risk, staff engagement and process improvement
  • Application of Lending Policy balancing growth and risk
  • Management of Credit Quality aligned with the policy.
  • Effective management of all stakeholders (both Internal and External)
  • Process improvement to enable measurable productivity improvements

About you

  • Demonstrated industry experience within residential lending,
  • Proven staff management and leadership experience within professional services
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills and a strong commercial mindset
  • Ability to manage business pressures and client expectations
  • Demonstrated commitment to ensure that industry knowledge is current and relevant, in particular areas related to credit, mortgage insurance and lending in general
  • Strong achievement drive and experience directing energy, stamina and commitment into the execution of challenging business goals
  • Proven ability to drive process improvement
  • Existing experience or qualifications in coaching / training is highly regarded

You will be a proven operational leader, comfortable leading significant size teams. Preferably this will have been gained within Mortgage services environments, you will have:

You must be comfortable working in a fast moving and changing environment entrepreneurial spirit and strong commercial business acumen.
