Our Nurse Triage team takes calls from virtually all over Australia and will triage symptoms and provide recommendations and help callers make informed healthcare decisions. They provide general health information and, if appropriate, referral to local service providers. This is a safe and accessible service operation 24/7, 365 days a year. Enjoy working from the comfort of your own home while also being supported by a clinical lead.
In this role, you will confidently operate and navigate through a clinical triage system using clear communication in order to help callers through challenging situations. Quite different from other nursing roles you will use technology to complement your strong clinical assessment skills to arrive at a disposition for each caller, ensuring high level of clinical governance and care.
• Full technology suite provided (including computer and phone kit)
• Full time and part time positions are available – from 19 hours to 37.5 hours per week, working on a fixed fortnightly roster
• One weekend shift a fortnight may be required.
To assist you in successfully delivering in this role, you will complete our virtual at home induction training program, running for 5 full days from commencement. After this, you will carry on 3 days of precepting shifts at home before finally beginning your role as triage nurse.
We have a number of virtual inductions coming up on the following dates 30th April - 4th May and 14th -18th May
You are an experienced Registered Nurse with a minimum of 3 years full time clinical nursing experience (post qualification) with recent Acute or Primary Health Care experience. You will also have a current practicing certificate without restrictions from AHPRA.
On top of this, you must demonstrate superior nursing assessment skills including excellent critical thinking capability and strong decision making and problem solving skills. You are comfortable with technology and recognising that this is a computer based role, you possess an intermediate level of computer skills and comfortable in navigating software, typing and talking at the same time. To be able to demonstrate these will play a massive part in you succeeding in this role!
To be eligible to work from home you will need a landline and suitable internet connection. The internet must be an ADSL or similar to that (ADSL + 2, SDSL, Cable, Naked ADSL (only if you have a PSTN line for voice) or NBN connection (It is acceptable for you to have a separate voice (UNV port voice) and data (UND port data) connection. Please check with your current provider to confirm you meet the requirement prior to the interview stage.
