Medibank’s Garrison Health Services (GHS) delivers a national integrated healthcare service to the Australian Defence Force (ADF).  The GHS team manages and coordinates over 1100 on-base primary healthcare experts, providing access to seamless quality healthcare to over 80 000 uniformed ADF personnel from point of injury or illness to recovery.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a full time Physiotherapist to join our team based on site at Puckapunyal for a 12 month maternity leave contract.  This is a fantastic opportunity to get your foot in the door with our Garrison Health Services in a civilian based role.  Based at one of Victoria's most impressive military training bases, you will be working in an incredibly rewarding environment treating an active and unique patient population. 

The Physiotherapist provides evidence based practice physiotherapy assessments, treatments and rehabilitative services to Entitled Personnel in an outpatient, inpatient or rehabilitation environment.   As a Physiotherapist you will be required to perform a variety of clinical and administrative tasks including but not limited to:

• Evidence based practice Physiotherapy assessments, treatments and rehabilitation;
• Provide direction on, and / or conduct exercise prescription, gym based rehabilitation programs, hydrotherapy and physiotherapy related return-to-work rehabilitation services;
• Splinting, plastering and fitting of orthoses or other physiotherapy prescribed devices;
• Provision of instruction, advice and recommendations to Entitled Personnel and other health professionals;
• Liaise with other multidisciplinary health staff including Physical Training Instructors in regard to patient management;
• Use of electrotherapy modalities correctly and safely in accordance with APA guidelines.

About You

In order to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance, you will hold Australian citizenship (please note permanent residency is not accepted).   

Other mandatory criteria includes:                       

• Full and unconditional registration in Australia with AHPRA;
• A minimum of 2 years postgraduate musculoskeletal experience within the previous 5 years in an accredited physiotherapy environment
