Senior Cloud Data Engineer

Join an exciting Technology Team as a Senior Cloud Data Engineer to implement data workflows and ETL processes.

In this role, you will be tasked to monitor performance and ensure infrastructure is appropriately matched to support workload and SLA’s. You will define processes to meet policy set by Enterprise Management Framework, and be responsible for documenting platform operational processes.

You will also have the opportunity to participate in design reviews, code reviews, unit testing and integration testing. Using the DevOps model, you will trouble shoot and resolve production issues. You will be creative and have the ability to continuously identify opportunities to improve the performance and quality of the platform.

Your technical skills will include:

  • exposure to security concepts / best practices
  • minimum 5 year working experience in the data warehousing and Business Intelligence systems
  • experience with integration of data from multiple data sources
  • familiarity with Data Modelling techniques
  • knowledge of various ETL techniques and frameworks, such as Talend, Datastage
  • good knowledge of Big Data querying tools, such as Hive, Drill, Presto
  • experience with Spark
  • good experience with programming languages such as Java, Scala, Python, SQL.
  • familiarity with DevOps tools such as Chef / Puppet, Atlassian Stack, GIT, Nexus
  • experience with Linux
